Col. Kitiku is a graduate of Cranfield University (U.K) on Disaster Management and Mitigation. He is also a graduate of Pakistan Navy Staff Collage, Karachi. Has both command and Administrative experience at senior levels in the military. At retirement Col. Kitiku was a senior instructor at Defense Staff College, Karen where he taught among others, International Relations, and diplomacy and Maritime operations. He served as an assistant Defense advisor in London between 1980 and 1984.
He is a co-founder of Security Research and Information Center (SRIC) and is currently the Director of the Organization. Since August, 2010, Col. Kitiku serves as a member of the Executive Committee and the Regional Coordinator for East Africa and Great Lakes Region hub, Africa Security Sector Network (ASSN). He was among the team of experts who unpacked the Nairobi Declarations on SALW into the Implementation Plan and coordinated Agenda for Action on request by the Kenya Government. Also served as an assistant manager of the research team that conducted National Surveys on the problem of SALW in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, DRC and Rwanda; thereafter involved in the development and implementation of the National Action Plans of the said countries. He is a renowned expert on human security dynamics and conflicts at both regional and international levels.

Stephen Mwachofi Singo combines both academic and practical policy experience on Peace and Security issues, having worked for over seven years as Director for the Peace and Security Programme at the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), a regional Inter Governmental Organization based in Bujumbura, Burundi. Stephen is a graduate of Moi University and the University of Nairobi. He is currently Lecturer at the Department of Political Science, University of Nairobi where he teaches Security Studies and Comparative Politics. Mwachofi is currently finalizing his Doctoral dissertation focusing on the Politics of Insecurity and Underdevelopment in Northern Kenya.

Leonard Kyalo is an economics graduate from Egerton University (B.A), Kenya and a post graduate diploma (PGD) holder in project planning and management from the University of Nairobi. He has also benefited from several short-term professional training courses, including advanced diploma in SPSS, Civil Military Coordination Course (CIMIC) from PSTC and Ms - Training Centre (Arusha) certificate in PPM. Mr. Leonard Kyalo has worked with SRIC in various positions and climbed up the ranks to his current designation as Programme Coordinator. He is also the current National Coordinator of the Kenya Action Network on Small Arms (KANSA) and the Chair of the Conflict Analysis Group (CAG) of the National Steering Committee on peace building and conflict management (NSC). Mr. Kyalo’s area of expertise and practice include action-oriented research in Peace, Conflict management and Small Arms. Mr. Kyalo is a co- author of a number of publications, including “The Arms Problem in Trans-Nzoia County”, (2010), a joint project of Peacenet-Kenya and Handicap International, “Conflict dynamics in Isiolo, Samburu East and Marsabit South districts of Kenya”, a NSC/UNDP Amani Paper: Volume 1 No.3 June 2010. Moreover, he has also consulted for many national and regional bodies including NSC’s Uwiano Platform for Peace where he was the lead Data Analyst, Kenya National Focal Point on Small Arms- national survey (KNFP) in which he served as a Supervisor. Kyalo is also a board member of the Partnership for Peace and Security (KPfPS) and a member of the NSC, Kenya National Focal Point on Small Arms (KNFP) and the East Africa Action Network on Small Arms (EAANSA).

Thomson Muthama is a Peace Building and Conflict Management practitioner, an experienced researcher in applied research in Peace and Human Security and also a Leadership and Strategic Management expert. He has worked and consulted for a number of regional and national organizations as a data analyst including; UNDP – Kenya and South Sudan, National Steering Committee on Peace building and Conflict Management (NSC-Conflict Analysis Group), Kenya National Focal Point on Small Arms and Light weapons (KNFP), Women Empowerment Link (WEL) and Regional Centre on Small Arms Control (RECSA).
Mr. Muthama is a board member of International Centre for Peace, Human Rights and Development in Africa (IPHRD), a steering Committee member of Kenya Action Network on Small Arms and Light Weapons (KANSA) and also Conflict Analysis Group (CAG) of the National Steering Committee on Peace building and Conflict Management (NSC).
He presently heads the research team at Security Research and Information Centre (SRIC), an institution which specializes in conducting applied research on human security and security sector dynamics in Kenya and the sub-regions of the Great Lakes and the Horn of Africa. Mr. Muthama holds a BSC degree in Mathematics and a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management (PGDip) from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Master’s Degree (MBA) in Strategic Management and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Strategic Management at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

His area of expertise is programmes work and supports all programme implementation within and outside the organization. These ranges from applied research, training on different areas of focus (security, peacebuilding and programme management and security sector reforms), data analysis (competent with MsExcel, SPSS and Stata), report writing and conceptualization of activities.
