NAKURU COUNTY: A domestic quarrel turned tragic after a woman stabs her husband to death with a sharp knife in Kihoto estate,Naivasha, after suspecting the husband is cohabiting with a workmate and neglecting his young family. The standard Newspaper, 24/1/2016. Page 24.

NAIROBI COUNTY: Police have recovered two bodies that were found dumped along the southern bypass near the Lenana School. The bodies placed one on top of the other, had their necks swollen, an indication that the two men have been strangled to death. Dagoreti OCPD said that the two men could have been killed elsewhere and the bodies dumped at the scene.  Mutuini Chief confirmed that the deceased persons were not residents of Dagoretti.


This, according to police records, over 50 bodies have been found dumped across the country in the last one month. It’s just days after three bodies were found dumped at Tagwa near Mt Kenya in Nyeri County. The three bodies were found with gunshot wounds on the head and chest.

Dozens of other bodies have been found dumped in Ruai, Mathare and Buruburu over the same period.

And in Langata last month, police found the bodies of a woman and her child that were also dumped a few metres from where other two bodies were found dumped days back. Daily Nation, online news. Tuesday, February 24, 2015.

MOMBASA COUNTY: A middle-aged man was reported to have been stabbed to death by marauding gang in Burnley Estate in Majengo on Monday, 17/8/2015. One of the resident, who happened to be witness, said the deceased approached a gang of youths, who have reportedly been terrorizing residents in the area, inquiring on their suspicious activities and a scuffle ensued which resulted in him being stabbed severally on the chest. BUNGOMA COUNTY: A retired prison warder was attacked and killed in his house by unknown assailants. Cases of murder in Bungama seems to have increased and residents threatened to hold protests over the incident claiming that police have done nothing to curb such heinous acts. To confirm irate residents claims, this killing happened less than two weeks after two boda boda operators were killed under unclear circumstances by unknown people in what they now claim is a daily occurrence. EMBU EAST: Police in Embu East have launched investigations into the death of a 30-year-old man whose body was found dumped in a maize plantation at Mbiruri Village in Embu sustaining multiple injuries. Embu East Administration Police Commandant confirmed the incident and said the deceased was a bodaboda rider in Runyenjes Town, and that he was accosted by unknown people who stole his brand new motorbike. He is now appealing to bodaboda operators to cease operation at night for their own safety. Citizen online news. Monday, July 6, 2015.


Body of 48-year-old woman was found in a maize plantation a few metres from her home in Thunguri village, Mukurwe-Ini. The woman was allegedly strangled to death by her farmhand. This came after the deceasedcomplained to her husband about the conduct of the farmhand, a factor that led to the termination of his services. Relatives to the deceased claimed she had said the farmhand had blamed her for losing his job and had threatened to go back to the homestead by force. Resident confirmed the incident saying, the assailant could have brutally raped the deceased before killing her as her body was found naked and her clothes placed beside it. NYERI COUNTY: A 36 year-old man attacked and beheaded his neighbour who was tilling his farm in Karundu village, Mukurwe-Ini, Nyeri County. He then allegedly walked around the village with the man's head in his hand after the incident. The man later tried to attack two other men who accosted him. He was thereafter, cornered by angry villagers, about three hundred meters from where he committed the murder, who also beheaded him. Citizen online News. Tuesday, 02 June 2015.

NYERI COUNTY: Residents and security agents in Nyeri County have raised the red flag over rising insecurity in the area after a dismembered body of a night guard at a local primary school was discovered. The night guard is believed to have been murdered in the wee hours of the morning with no leads as to who the perpetrators of the heinous act are. K24 online news. Wednesday April 1, 2015.

VIHIGA COUNTY: The body of an Administration Police Officer was found lying in a pool of blood in the middle of a road with a deep cut on the left side of the neck in Solongo village, Chavakali on Monday, 1/12/2014 morning. The officer was seen at Chavakali market on Sunday 30/12/2014 night but it is not clear whether he had company. Vihiga County Commissioner confirmed the incident and said police are going to lay out an operation to make sure there is enough security in the entire county. KIAMBU COUNTY: A 26-years-old man hacked his stepmother to death using a machete for allegedly killing his daughter in Ndeiya ward, Limuru sub-county on Sunday, 30/12/2014. The believed his stepmother poisoned his four day old daughter. One the witnesses said the man attacked the woman when she tried to console him for the loss leaving her head hanging loose from the body. Daily Nation online News. Monday December 1, 2014.

MURANG'A COUNTY: A 58-year-old pastor was murdered in his house and his head cut off and placed in asufuia in Iria village, Kiharu Constituency on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Daily nation, Thursday November 13, 2014. Page 11.

MIGORY COUNTY: A 24-year-old "bodaboda" operator killed in Migori Town and his body dumped near the governors office. His body was found on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 morning by the guards at governor's gate. His body had stab wounds. Daily Nation, Wednesday November 12, 2014. Page 19.

BUSIA COUNTY: Two men have been killed in two different incidents on Sunday July 6, 2014. One man was found dead in Teso with his eyes gouged out and body dumped near Busia Deputy Speaker. The second man died in Changara before he was transferred to Bungoma Hospital from Kocholia District Hospital after he had been attacked by two people who followed him on his way home from where they were drinking Chang'aa. Daily Nation, Tuesday July 8, 2014.

LAMU COUNTY: 11 bodies have been recovered in Witu, Lamu West after fresh attacks on Monday, June 23, 2014, night. Pandanguo is 30 kilometers from Mpeketon. The Standard Online. June 24, 2014.

MACHAKOS COUNTY: Three bodies, two men and a woman were found burnt beyond in Matungulu.Daily Nation online news. June 9, 2014.

NAKURU COUNTY: A woman, mother of six, was brutally killed in her house by unknown people and her body burned over the weekend in Oldebes village, Kisanana division in Mogotio Sub County, allegedly for practicing witchcraft. The Standard Online. May 27, 2014.

MAKUENI COUNTY: Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the brutal murder of a secondary school guard. The area deputy officer commanding police division said the suspects were nabbed hours after they hacked the Utangwa Girls Secondary School watchman. The OCPD said police recovered some school documents the suspects had stolen from the principal’s office, which they mistook be money stashed in an envelope. Police also said the suspects are a part of a gang that has been terrorizing residents of the area. The Standard. Monday, May 12, 2014. Page 23.

BUMULA: Tension gripped Chiliba Village in Bumula after a gang broke into a trader's  home and hacked him and  his son to death. They were attacked on Thursday, 24/5/2014 at 11pm. His wife escaped with serious injuries and was taken to Bungoma District Hospital. The killing has  terrified residents who fear that criminals who murdered more than 10 people and maimed 200 others in the area last year may have returned. Saturday Nation. April 26, 2014. Page 11.

KAJIADO COUNTY: Body of a 23-years old boda boda operator was found on Monday, 5/5/2014, in Ngong Stadium, Kajiado County. The boda boda operator was allegedly murdered and dumped after he was robbed of his motorbike. Confirming the incident, Kajiado North North Police bass said the body of the deceased had injuries on the head indicating the he had been hit with a blunt object. Daily Nation. Tuesday, May 6, 2014. NAIROBI COUNTY: A body of a woman was found under the bed in a lodging on Sunday, 27/4/2014 in Huruma Estate. The body was discovered by a couple that had used the room on Saturday who reported the matter to the New Forest Bar and Restaurant officials. It is suspected the deceased, who is a commercial sex worker and a mother of five, was killed by her partner after a disagreement on Saturday morning. Daily Nation. Monday, April 28, 2014. Page 20.

THARAKA-NITHI COUNTY: Bodies of two children, a boy and a girl, has been found at the river bank of River Kaburu at Kaanwa market, Meru South District. The bodies that had deep cuts are believed to have been hacked to death. According to Tharaka-Nithi county police boss Johnston Ipara said the boy, 5, had been left by his mother to play at the four-years-old girl's home as she went to the market. A neighbour allegedly sent the two children to a shop to buy salt. Daily Nation. Wednesday April 16,2014. Page 20.

KEIYO SOUTH DISTRICT. A single mother, 46 year old, used a pen knife to stab her two children to death and then attempted to kill herself in Soy location where she has been living with her parents on 15/4/2014.  In the process of trying to kill herself, she wailed attracting neighbours who stopped her before alerting the police. Neighbours said the woman, who has been married, might have been depressed. Daily Nation. Wednesday April 16,2014. Page 19.

NAIROBI COUNTY. House-help killed while a three years old girl escaped death narrowly in an attack by gang that also set their house on fire. Nairobi County Commander said a woman had led the gang to the house in Mihango. The group attacked the house-help believing she was the woman's co-wife. The woman who was identified by the owner of the home as the first wife who lives in Saika after being given description was arrested and held in Kayole police station. Daily Nation.
